Step 6: Connect the Galaxy S3 to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box will turn blue with the COM port number. Additionally, the successful connected will be indicated by a message saying Added.

Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try re-install USB drivers or changing the port on the computer.

Step 7: Choose the following files in Odin from extracted I9300XXEMG4 firmware folder by using respective checkboxes:

• Select the PDA checkbox, and choose the file named .tar or .md5.
• Click the Phone checkbox, and choose the file with modem in its name (ignore if there is no such file)
• Click the CSC checkbox, and select the file with csc in its name (ignore if such file is missing)
• Choose the PIT checkbox, and choose the .pit file. Use only the file obtained during extracting in step 1 above, otherwise ignore it.

Step 8: In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes. Also, ensure the Re-Partition checkbox is chosen only if a .pit file was chosen in the previous step.
Step 9: Verify everything suggested in Step 7 and Step 8 is done correctly. Then hit the Start button to begin the installation process.
Step 10: Once the installation process is completed, your phone will restart and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can now unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.

Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 should be now updated with official Android 4.1.2 XXEMG4 Jelly Bean. Head over to Settings >> About Phone to verify the software version running on the device.

Note: If Galaxy S3 I9300 stuck at booting animation after Step 10 then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together) and perform Wipe data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before selecting reboot system now function. Trik Menyembunyikan Disk Drive Anda - Kadang-kadang jika anda memiliki komputer yang harus berbagi pakai dengan teman, saudara, atau anggota keluarga lainnya mungkin kurang nyaman seandainya isi hard disk anda yang sebagian merupakan data, gambar - gambar atau video yang bersifat pribadi. Sudah tentu anda ingin menyembunyikan dokumen-dokumen tersebut dari orang lain yang tidak seharusnya mengetahui hal-hal privasi anda. Atau mungkin kerabat anda salah mengoperasikan komputer anda sehingga terjadi hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan.

Untuk tujuan itu saya akan membagi satu trik sederhana untuk menyembunyikan secara visual disk drive komputer anda, silahkan ikuti langkah-langkah dibawah ini :

1. Klik Start ->  Control Panel -> Administrative Tools

2. Lalu klik Computer Management

3. Setelah tampil layar "Computer Management", perhatikan layar sebelah kiri, dibawah folder Storage klik Disk Management.

4. Akan muncul layar yang menampilkan semua disk drive pada komputer anda, perhatikan pada kotak sebelah kanan, klik kanan disk drive yang hendak anda sembunyikan lalu klik "change drive letter and paths", lalu klik Remove.

5. Kemudian akan dimintakan konfirmasi klik saja "Yes"
6. Sekarang buka Windows Explorer dan perhatikan disk drive yang anda sembunyikan sudah tidak ada di folder  My Computer.
7. Disk drive hanya disembunyikan sementara, anda jangan khawatir, untuk mengembalikan disk drive anda silahkan ulangi langkah no.1 sampai 4 lalu perhatikan drive yang hanya berisi data besarnya ruang hard disk tanpa nama drive, klik kanan drive tersebut kemudian klik "change drive letter and paths", lalu klik Add, naah ... akan muncul nama drive yang anda sembunyikan tadi, klik saja, lalu beres deh, drive anda sudah kembali seperti semula.

8. Catatan : disk drive yang hendak anda sembunyikan harus dalam keadaan tidak digunakan, dengan kata lain tidak ada data atau dokumen yang sedang dibuka.

Mengenal Apa itu Custom ROM. Hallo sobat kali ini Drio AC , Dokter Android akan membahas sebuah topic yang kedengarannya cukup menarik
untuk sobat, apa ya kira-kira, ya kita akan membahas mengenai Mengenal Apa itu Custom ROM. Langsung saja ya.

Custom ROM

Custom ROM adalah sebuah firmware yang sudah di develop oleh develop pihak ke-3 dengan maksud dan tujuan tertentu . Biasanya Custom ROM dimaksudkan dengan mengubah firmware asli dari vendor atau yang biasa disebut dengan Stock ROM. Tapi penerapan ini bukan hanya terdapat pada perangkat android saja melainkan pada beberapa jenis komputer ataupun handphone, tapi karena blog ini tentang android maka yang kita kaitkan adalah mengenai android. Biasanya para develop pihak ketiga mengganti, Menghilangkan atau menghapus dan menambahkan beberapa hal yang menjadi kelemahan dari vendor. Fungsi dari Custom ROM itu sangat menguntungkan,. Mari kita lihat beberapa keuntungan dari Custom ROM.

Keuntungan Custom ROM

Sebenarnya banyak sekali fungsi dari Custom ROM, tapi saya akan memberikan secara garis besarnya:

1. Memperbaiki fitur-fitur yang menjadi kelemahan vendor, terkadangan fitur bawaan vendor kurang bagus misalnya pada fitur bawaan vendor kita diharuskan mengaktifkan jaringan internet dengan masuk ke Setting tetapi jika menggunakan Custom ROM hal ini dipermudah dengan menyediakan widget turn on/off di status bar.

2. Mengubah tampilan android menjadi lebih menarik. Yang ini sangat sering dikeluh kesalkan oleh user android, karena tampilan Android dari vendor kurang menarik sebenarnya kita bisa menggunakan beberapa launcher yang memiliki tampilan UI yang lebih menarik tetapi tampilan pada launcher application tidak berfungsi sebagai tampilan utama artinya aplikasi launcher bukanlah tampilan home asli.

3. Membuat pemakainya menjadi lebih friendly. Terkadang sebuah stock ROM yang disediakan dari vendor tidak memberikan pelayanan yang begitu memuaskan, maka salah satu fungsi inilah yang menyebabkan adanya Custom ROM.

4. Meningkatkan sedikit kemampuan sehingga performa Android menjadi lebih cepat. Apa sobat memiliki android yang lemot?, mungkin inilah jawabannya.

5. Mengurangi beberapa Bug pada vendor. Terkadang bug pada stock ROM adalah hal yang paling kita kesalkan namun kehadiran Stock ROM memang sangat menguntungkan salah satunya untuk ini.

Kerugian Custom ROM

1. Menghilangkan garansi. Inilah yang harus sobat pikirkan kita harus benar-benar yakin akan resiko yang akan kita terima

2. Memperpendek umur Android sobat. Kalau sobat sudah merasa kaya maka sobat boleh kok melakukannya.

3. Kelebihannya dapat menjadi bug dalam waktu ke waktu, tapi hal ini termasuk jarang terjadi. Ini termasuk kasus yang saya alami memang pertamanya banyak keunggulan tapi pada beberapa lama kemudian keunggulannya menjadi beberapa bug, apa sobat juga mengalaminya?.

4. Keunggulannya kadang diragukan karena tidak melalui tahap lisensi resmi.

Perlu Sobat Ketahui!

Kebanyakan para pengguna Android terbuai oleh sebuah tampilan user interface yang menarik dibandingkan dengan fitur keunggulannya inilah yang harus kita perhatikan, sebaiknya kita mengerti sedikit informasi mengenai keunggulan fitur-fiturnya dibandingkan keindahan semata. Jika sobat lebih menyukai tampilannya saja seperti tampilan home yang menarik, status bar yang transparant, serta icon-icon yang lebih menarik, maka saya menyarankan untuk carilah juga yang memiliki sebuah fitur yang lebih baik, seperti hemat baterai, RAM menjadi hemat dan lain-lain. Jika sobat mengalami hal-hal yang serius di Custom ROM sobat sebaiknya sobat tanyakan kepada developernya atau bergabung dalam forum perihal Android. Perlu sobat ketahui juga dalam memilih cutom ROM, pilihlah dalam forum yang terkenal seperti XDA DEVELOPER.

Langkah Sebelum Melakukan Instalasi Custom ROM Android

1. Pastikan sobat sudah benar-benar yakin akan melakukannya karena tanggung jawab terdapat pada diri sobat sendiri “Do With Your Own Risk”.

2. Always Nanroid Backup, Back Up dulu sebelum melakukan proses Instalasi karena ini sangat penting untuk data-data sobat, nanti kalau hilang sobat juga yang rugi, sebaiknya back up menggunakan CMW atau melalui beberapa aplikasi seperti Titanium Back Up atau melalui cara back menggunakan Root Explorer.

3. Gunakan baterai minimal 20%, jangan dibawah dari 20%, karena jika tiba-tiba baterai sudah sampai batasnya Android akan mati dan pastinya proses instalasi akan dimulai dari awal.

4. Buatlah sebuah ruang kosong SD Card untuk mempermudah proses instalasi, hal ini hanya perlu dilakukan jika SD Card sobat sudah penuh lebih dari 75%, kosongkanlah terlebih dahulu hingga menjadi minimal 20%.

5. Simpan file Back Up anda di Komputer atau semacamnya, hal ini sangat diperlukan jika suatu hari sobat ingin mengembalikan Stock ROM.

6. Berdoa.

- Memback-up data dari ponsel, gunakan titanium back-up untuk data.
- Sudah meng-install CWM Recovery untuk Memback-up /system.

Tutorial Install Android Lollipop untuk Acer liquid Z500

Untuk meng-install Custom ROM ini silahkan ikuti langkah-langkah berikut:

1. Download Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM untuk Acer Liquid Z500. File di split menjadi 3 part karena berukuran besar. Download dari link di bawah.
2. Letakkan hasil ekstrak (file .zip) di /sdcard/disini.
3. Restart Acer Liquid anda ke mode recovery. Dari sini, sebaiknya anda melakukan full back-up terlebih dahulu.
4. Setelah selesai back-up, lanjutkan dengan wipe data, wipe cache dan dalvik-cache.
5. Sesudah itu, kembali ke menu utama dan pilih menu Flash ROM from SD Card.
6. Arahkan ke lokasi di mana anda meng-ekstrak file ROM Android 5.0 Lollipop (.zip) di Acer Liquid Z500 anda.
7. Tunggu hingga proses update selesai.

Android 5.0 Lollipop
Jika proses sudah selesai, maka anda tinggal me-reboot ponsel anda. Jika anda melakukan proses instalasi dengan benar maka Acer Liquid Z500 anda akan terinstall Android 5.0 Lollipop. Selamat.

Catatan: Selama instalasi, jika perangkat mengalami bootloop (stuk di boot), lakukan wipe cache dan wipe Dalvik kemudian reboot.
